Classic Rock-it Pocket
This pocket was first marketed in 1987, patented soon thereafter, and has endured with only minor tweaks and changes. This pocket magnifies the things that I first hated and liked about the pockets that came in the first Click for full size imagesticks I ever owned. I hated the ball rolling around in the pocket, and I hated the sidewalls sliding around. I hated this for two reasons: (1) they wore out in about two weeks of sliding through the holes on the head, and (2) loose sidewalls confused the adjustment issue. I wanted individually adjustable shooting strings so the pocket would Click for full size imagehave the ultimate fine tuning capabilities. I loved the feel of a stick when you got the leathers in the pocket "just so."

I wanted to track and lift the ball as it rolled up the pocket so that the ball would always come out the same, and you would never have to look at your pocket after a play, bewildered by what had just happened on that last pass or whatever. I wanted the pocket itself to rock, not just the ball. I felt and still feel that good cradling and a Rock-it Pocket will sort of hide the ball in the pocket without making it illegal.
