Brine Clutch 2X

The Brine Clutch 2X does have some new features that make it different from the Clutch and the Clutch X that have been Brine's most popular heads over the last few years. The Clutch 2X is supposed to be legal at the NCAA level of play but some of ours have measured a little tight at the throat, so do check that. The throat is very similar to earlier Clutches, but the look has changed a little bit. The maximum off-sets are similar in all the Clutch models.

The bottom of the sidewall is flared in up near the scoop, which helps to channel the ball in any pocket and helps to improve overall accuracy as well as aiding ball control possibilities when strung right. At 128 grams the X2 is extremely light and exactly the same as its older brother, the Clutch X. The scoop is simplified with no recess for the pocket attachment string protection. The holes are a little different on the scoop. There are 6 on the X2 as compared to 7 on the X.

The X2 is also the 'first ever 2 shot color factory head' according to Brine's label, but it seems as though there is an overall revolution happening now in the area of head color designs that come out of the factory. Until recently you needed to red hot Rit dye to do anything creative with colors on a lacrosse head. Now we have chrome, rasta, checkers, you name it and it can be colorfully yours.

Like the X, we recommend the Clutch X2 for the more advanced, offensive minded lacrosse player. The pocket wants to sit high on the head. This gives a little more kick for the shooter, but also can make for a little more pocket whip and increase the need for adjustments and monitoring performance in general.

SCOOP RATING - Average to good

STRINGING - Multiple holes make for more options, but also can make it a little more difficult to string the mesh to get exactly the pocket you are going for.

STIFFNESS - Would not consider the X2 stiff or rigid. It is a fairly flexible head. The side looks like The X, but it does have a ridge of reinforcement that is new.

ROCK-IT POCKET LEATHER: - Our leathers are 100% real hide, which is durable and resistant to water. These leathers are strong and do not sag in humid conditions.

ROCK-IT POCKET & MESH MATERIALS: - We use a high quality nylon string for the middle part of our Rock-it Pockets and the sidewall/trim of our mesh pockets.

LACES: - Jima Lax supplies us with colored hockey laces we use on our mesh pockets. These laces can be used on Rock-it Pockets, but we recomend our high quality (default) laces that come only in white.

MESH MATERIAL: - We carry a variaty of hard, soft, 6 diamond, goalie hard and goalie 12 diamond mesh. These are the most common types of mesh used in the game.

For ROCK-IT POCKETS ONLY!! Leathers are white by default. No leathers in mesh pockets!

Extra Hockey Laces:

Extra laces will be enclosed with your order for you to string later. These can be used if you have another head/pocket that needs new shooting laces.

NFHS or NCAA:

By default, our pockets are all strung to meet all regulation for the NFHS (high school and bellow). If you play in NCAA (college) please state so in the special instructions box below and we will make the small adjustment to make it legal for your regulations.
