Brine's Edge X is 2010 compliant and strongly resembles the old Edge - one of the most innovative and best selling heads of all time. It's a little wider than the original used to be, but has a straight off-set with no curve at all, which is almost "old-school" now. There is nothing particularly groundbreaking about the newest Edge - and in many ways, this is it's most innovative feature of all. Choosing to simply re-fit the old Brine Edge into the 2010 rules is a smart, if not fiscally responsible move as all companies transition into the new rule era. The only significant difference we can see with this head and the old one is the slight flare on the back end of the head. Compared to some of the other 2010 compiant heads, the Edge certainly is not the best for holding the ball. That being said, the Rock-it Pocket will fit nicely in this one. Keep in mind that with no curve and only the straight off-set, this head will likely cause whip for most players. With a forgiving catching area and stiff walls, this head will be a favorite for defensemen.
