The Gait/Debeer Flow is new and it is compliant for 2010 and is therefore legal at all levels of play. At first glance, it almost resembles a Warrior Helix more than anything. The opening stays as narrow as it can as it moves up and then it flares out quickly as the sides approach the scoop and to where the minimum opening is 6.5." By the way, this head flirts with that minimum opening measurement, and, of course that is something that appeals to many players. Be sure to check it before you play in a game. The sidewall looks generally more Gait like, with a profile similar to the Gait Mutant and multiple holes up and down and all around. The top of the sidewall is thick, which adds to its potential durability. The Flow is offset of course and has the usual modern features. The design reaches out to a wide variety of player styles. The Flow features the Gait 'dynamic' shaft attachment element and procedure where you don’t need to put a screw through the head and into the pole. The screw is replaced with a piece of plastic that fits inside the top of the handle. This plastic piece is inserted into the top of the shaft and expands to make the handle become more tightly attached to the head. When you want to change the shaft, you pull a string upward to release the tension piece, and voila, the handle will slide away from head. We had some questions about this technology. First, if they were so sure it worked so good, then why did they also build in a screw hole place on the back of the head? Also, how can a pull-string thing coming out from more or less the middle of where the normal foam stop sits at the throat not be some sort of ball distraction or other issue at some time or other? We're also saying that sooner or later you will need some sort of tool to help you execute this 'tooless, screwless' technology. At 169 grams the Flow is not the lightest head available. It is noteworthy that the scoop blade is very narrow and the scoop is not particularly stiff. There are holes big enough for leather pockets to work. We recommend this head mostly to midfielders and attackmen, and although the pocket could be set anywhere, it seems well suited to have the pocket placement up higher in the head.
