The STX Deuce is the second incarnation of the STX Fuse, which introduced rubber "infused" into the sidewalls of the head. While the Fuse can sometimes be a little bit bulky, the Deuce is very lightweight and compact and the rubber does not seem to make much of an impact on head weight. The rubber is meant to pad catches and is fused into the head on the front and the back to cut down on wear.

The throat of the Deuce is very narrow. You will want to make sure that this stays legal throughout a warm weather game as there is a good chance it could pinch up even a bit more. The head moves back outwards towards the scoop at a sharp angle near the middle of the head. The scoop is more rounded and in the newer style of head design.

From the profile, you will notice that the Deuce has a fairly agressive offset in the middle of the head. The ball will gravitate towards the middle of the stick when cradling two-handed.

As stated before, this head really is not too heavy for having fused rubber on it. We like it more than the Fuse in this regard, but the narrow catching area may take some getting used to for some of the old time players. As with almost all heads, the Deuce takes care of some weight issues by removing plastic from the sidewalls.
