What STX says:

The STX Deuce Features patented Elastomer overmolded technology, which is meant to enhance control and kill ball rattle. Featherweight rail design reduces weight and optimizes balance. The face has a 'Suicide squeeze' pinch for aggressive ball retention and accuracy. Open sidewall geometry engineered for the right balance of stiffness. We do not recommend dyeing the Deuce because the hard rubber inserts on the sides (Elastomer) can come loose or break off.

FURTHER REVIEW

The STX Deuce became the second incarnation of the STX Fuse, which introduced rubber 'infused' into the sidewalls of the head. While the Fuse can sometimes be a little bit bulky, the Deuce is very lightweight and compact and the rubber does not seem to make much of an impact on head weight. The rubber is meant to pad catches and is fused into the head on the front and the back to help cut down on wear and tear on the plastic.

The throat of the Deuce is very narrow. You will want to make sure that this stays legal throughout a warm weather game as there is a good chance it could pinch up even a bit more. The head moves back outwards towards the scoop at a sharp angle near the middle of the head. The scoop is more rounded and in the newer style of head design.

From the profile, you will notice that the Deuce has a fairly agressive offset in the middle of the head. The ball will gravitate towards the middle of the stick when cradling two-handed.

As stated before, this head really is not too heavy for having fused rubber on it. We like it more than the Fuse in this regard, but the narrow catching area may take some getting used to for some of the old time players. As with almost all heads, the Deuce takes care of some weight issues by removing plastic from the side walls.

The narrow face of the Deuce makes it a good choice for the 'shooter' types. There is no doubt that this head, sort of like the Gait Torque, has sort of a 'cult' following. These two hold a fairly large, fairly loyal sector of the lacrosse population. Both are very unique, unusual, and have stood the test of time.

ROCK-IT POCKET LEATHER: - Our leathers are 100% real hide, which is durable and resistant to water. These leathers are strong and do not sag in humid conditions.

ROCK-IT POCKET & MESH MATERIALS: - We use a high quality nylon string for the middle part of our Rock-it Pockets and the sidewall/trim of our mesh pockets.

LACES: - Jima Lax supplies us with colored hockey laces we use on our mesh pockets. These laces can be used on Rock-it Pockets, but we recomend our high quality (default) laces that come only in white.

MESH MATERIAL: - We carry a variaty of hard, soft, 6 diamond, goalie hard and goalie 12 diamond mesh. These are the most common types of mesh used in the game.

Extra laces will be enclosed with your order for you to string later. These can be used if you have another head/pocket that needs new shooting laces.

NFHS or NCAA:

By default, our pockets are all strung to meet all regulation for the NFHS (high school and bellow). If you play in NCAA (college) please state so in the special instructions box below and we will make the small adjustment to make it legal for your regulations.
