STX's Crankshaft (or 10 degree offset) technology continues with the Kannon, a head marketed as a face-off head. With one of the narrowest throats in the game, the Kannon certainly has all the markings of a good face-off head, but this one is tempting all head dimension rules and players will have to be very careful not to incur stick penalties. Essentially, the Kannon is very similar to the Primer and Deuce in that its face is hourglass-shaped. The middle of the head is the most narrow and the throat is fairly short, meaning that you can get your hands closer to the head and gain a slight advantage on clamps. In fact, the throat is so short that STX engineered a 3/4" part of the head that actually goes INSIDE the handle. Another extremely light head at 123 grams, the Kannon is very flexible, thanks to all of the stringing holes and wide open sidewalls. Like all STX heads, there are plenty of stringing options for the Kannon, which also features an interesting recession at the scoop which could help getting groundballs into the head quickly. Note: This head is only suitable for use with the Gait TOS Offset Handles (DB803 TOS and Silencer TOS) or STX Crankshaft Titanium and 7075 10 degree handles.
