The STX Proton Power is a head that has a long look and feel to it. The offset line of the side wall is maximum, while doing its offsetting thing pretty far up the side, which is longer and more graduated than some. This feature works well to help to hold the ball inside the head.

The Proton Power has a built in 'shock absorbing' ball stop in the throat that is a raised up, built in feature for padding catches. The ball will hide back behind the small 'pillar' with some pockets, but not so much with the pocket high in the head.

Weight: 4.7 Oz. or 132 grams, making on the lighter side, but not all the way to extremely light.

The ball will tend to stay in the stick a little bit longer with this kind of overall head contour, giving potential for perhaps more speed on a shot with a longer stroke, but it also makes it a little harder to control the amount of pocket whip from time to time. The Proton Power has the slight forward lean or the 'STX Cant' as the side wall up top becomes the scoop. This helps to lift the ball to its release point when it is time to throw and shoot.

The pinched, longer style of the Proton Power makes this a very good choice for advanced attackmen. The flex level seems to be as soft as it can be without sacrificing performance. The head shape suggests that the pocket should sit high up in the head near the scoop. There are stringing holes aplenty, so you might want to have it strung or pocketed by experts unless you really know what you are doing.

ROCK-IT POCKET LEATHER: - Our leathers are 100% real hide, which is durable and resistant to water. These leathers are strong and do not sag in humid conditions.

ROCK-IT POCKET & MESH MATERIALS: - We use a high quality nylon string for the middle part of our Rock-it Pockets and the sidewall/trim of our mesh pockets.

LACES: - Jima Lax supplies us with colored hockey laces we use on our mesh pockets. These laces can be used on Rock-it Pockets, but we recomend our high quality (default) laces that come only in white.

MESH MATERIAL: - We carry a variaty of hard, soft, 6 diamond, goalie hard and goalie 12 diamond mesh. These are the most common types of mesh used in the game.

For ROCK-IT POCKETS ONLY!! Leathers are white by default. No leathers in mesh pockets!

Extra Hockey Laces:

Extra laces will be enclosed with your order for you to string later. These can be used if you have another head/pocket that needs new shooting laces.

NFHS or NCAA:

By default, our pockets are all strung to meet all regulation for the NFHS (high school and bellow). If you play in NCAA (college) please state so in the special instructions box below and we will make the small adjustment to make it legal for your regulations.
