The Warrior Spyne is Warrior's first in the 'X' series, which means 2010 compliant. The Spyne is a nice-shaped head that resembles the Helix slightly and has a nice overall shape for players on both offense and defense. Since the 2010 rules are still so new, the Spyne should be a good choice for players of all positions as manufacturers transition into the new "age" of heads. The Spyne's first claim to fame is it's "Tek-9" polymer which is a stiffer mold than Warrior's previous incarnations. It should be noted that the plastic on all of the Spyne heads DO NOT dye well. Due to the different plastic material, dye jobs can appear runny, so please keep that in mind when ordering. Shape-wise, the Spyne is wider on the back than it is on the front. While the 2010 rules make for a wider overall head, the Spyne is right on the line with every measurement and is as tight as is allowed. This head also has a very severe off-set which provides excellent control and "snap" on throws, but could make short passing and target practice a little tough. Most of Warrior's other patents, like the twisted sidewall, step-back protection on stringing holes and curved head are all incorporated as well. The scoop is slightly curved and asthetically, this head is pleasing to look at as well. The Spyne is an excellent option for just about everyone except for face-off guys who like to pinch and pop. With the new wider dimensions, the Rock-it Pocket sits beautifully in the 2010 compliant heads and will provide a great advantage for players used to good hold. Please note: The SPYNE series head DO NOT DYE WELL AT ALL DUE TO THE NEW MATERIAL USED. It simply looks bad, so please keep this in mind when ordering.
